Atimeroverflowconditionandcorrespondinginternalinterruptsaretwoofthewake-upsources. However,theinternalinterruptscanbedisabledbyensuringthattheT0EbitsoftheINTC0register areresettozero. Bit 7 Bit 6 0 1 Control Register Operating Mode Select Bits for the Timer Mode. Inthismode,theexternaltimerTMRpin,isusedastheTimer/EventCounterclocksource,however itisnotdividedbytheinternalprescaler.AftertheotherbitsintheTimerControlRegisterhavebeen set,theenablebitT0ON,whichisbit4oftheTimerControlRegister,canbesethightoenablethe Timer/EventCountertorun.IftheActiveEdgeSelectbit,T0EG,whichisbit3oftheTimerControl Register,islow,theTimer/EventCounterwillincrementeachtimetheexternaltimerpinreceivesa lowtohightransition.IftheT0EGishigh,thecounterwillincrementeachtimetheexternaltimer pinreceivesahightolowtransition.Whenitisfullandoverflows,aninterruptsignalisgenerated andtheTimer/EventCounterwillreloadthevaluealreadyloadedintothepreloadregisterand continuecounting.TheinterruptcanbedisabledbyensuringthattheTimer/EventCounterInterrupt EnablebitinthecorrespondingInterruptControlRegister.Itisresettozero. AstheexternaltimerpinissharedwithanI/Opin,toensurethatthepinisconfiguredtooperateas aneventcounterinputpin,twothingshavetohappen.ThefirstistoensurethattheOperatingMode SelectbitsintheTimerControlRegisterplacetheTimer/EventCounterintheEventCounting Mode.Thesecondistoensurethattheportcontrolregisterconfiguresthepinasaninput.Itshould benotedthatintheeventcountingmode,evenifthemicrocontrollerisinthePowerDownMode, theTimer/EventCounterwillcontinuetorecordexternallychanginglogiceventsonthetimerinput TMRpin.Asaresultwhenthetimeroverflowsitwillgenerateatimerinterruptandcorresponding wake-upsource.
