(2) Regulation is measured at constant junction temperature, using pulse testing with a low duty cycle. Changes in output voltage due to heating effects are covered under the specification for thermal regulation. (3) Dropout voltage is defined as the input-to-output differential at which the output voltage drops 100 mV, below the value measured at 1-V differential. The minimum input supply voltage of 2 V (2.3 V over temperature) must be observed. (4) Thermal regulation is defined as the change in output voltage at a time (T) after a change in power dissipation is applied, excluding load or line regulation effects. Specifications are for a 50-mA load pulse at VIN = 30 V, VOUT = 5 V (1.25-W pulse) for t = 10 ms.
