53 / 105 page ![]() ST6215C/ST6225C 53/105 9.3 A/D CONVERTER (ADC) 9.3.1 Introduction The on-chip Analog to Digital Converter (ADC) pe- ripheral is a 8-bit, successive approximation con- verter. This peripheral has multiplexed analog in- put channels (refer to device pin out description) that allow the peripheral to convert the analog volt- age levels from different sources. The result of the conversion is stored in a 8-bit Data Register. The A/D converter is controlled through a Control Register. 9.3.2 Main Features s 8-bit conversion s Multiplexed analog input channels s Linear successive approximation s Data register (DR) which contains the results s End of Conversion flag s On/Off bit (to reduce consumption) s Typical conversion time 70 µs (with an 8 MHz crystal) The block diagram is shown in Figure 34.
