16 / 36 page MODEL R302/A . INSTRUCTIONS MANUAL MTR302/A -ING. - page E-4 • Check that each indicator is precisely over the dial line marked CLOSED. It is most probable that if the indicators read “closed” when the shutters are closed, all the other dial indications will prove to be correct. Shutter Dial Calibration: • Measure the x-ray size field shown on the test film. • Adjust the Light field to the same dimension and read the measure on the dial. • If the reading is not within tolerance, adjust the indicator . • Loosen the Allen screw placed on the side of the knob. 2. Bucky Light Line Adjustment Remove the collimator rear cover to gain access to the point of adjustment as shown in Figure 3 - page N-3 Position adjustment: • The line is to fall on a perpendicular bisector line constructed against the antidust plastic panel toward the control face of the collimator. • To adjust the position of the line, shift the light prism as required. Note that the prism and bracket are inside the collimator frame and cannot be seen, but may be controlled by the two securing screws as shown in Figure. 3 page N-3 NOTE: the prism is inside the collimator: it cannot be seen but may be adjusted by acting on two screws as illustrated in Figure 3 – page N-3 3. Crosshair Alignment • Activate the light-field. • Turn the control knobs to adjust the light-field to a narrow line; each direction in turn. • Check that the crosshair line is centred in the narrow light line in each direction. • If adjustment is required, remove the cover from the sides and bottom of the collimator to gain access. • Loosen the four screws securing the plastic panel to the collimator frame and position the plate to centre the cross lines in the light lines. 4. Friction Brake Adjustment • If a shutter control is too loose and does not hold position, or is too tight and is difficult to turn, adjust the appropriate friction brake to obtain the optimum friction - See Figure 3 page N-3. • Remove the knobs and front panel to gain access to the adjustment point (See Figure 3 – page N-3) • Before replacing the control close both shutters and note the position of the indicators: these must show correct field size.- see paragraph 4, of this Manual - Field Size Indication Adjustment - page E-3. 5. Mechanical Motion Stop Adjustment The purpose of these stops (see figure 3 on page N-3) is to prevent stressing excessively the shutters control linkage at the two extremes of travel, by positively limiting the rotation of the control shafts. |
