Highly inductive source impedance can affect the stability of the power module. Install CSIM and LSIM to simulate the impedance of power source. External input capacitors CFILTER serve primarily as energy-storage elements, minimizing line voltage variations caused by transient IR drops in conductors from backplane to the DC/DC. The capacitor must be as close as possible to the input terminals of the power module for lower impedance.
