3 Description
UCC28056 is a fully featured PFC controller offering
excellent light load efficiency and standby power.
UCC28056 simplifies the design of power supply
system’s requiring good power factor, that must also
be capable of meeting today's tough standards for
efficiency and standby power. At full load, UCC28056
operates the PFC power stage at maximum switching
frequency in Transition Mode. At reduced load, the
part
transitions
seamlessly
into
Discontinuous
Conduction mode, automatically reducing switching
frequency for maximum efficiency. At light load, DCM
operation is combined with Burst Mode operation to
further improve light load efficiency and standby
power.
UCC28056
integrates
all
the
features
necessary to implement a high performance and
robust PFC stage into a 6-pin package and requires a
minimal number of external components to interface
with the power stage.
