Important:

Butt splices will accept the same wire size at either end for aluminum-to-aluminum applica-

tions. However, for aluminum-to-copper applications, when using bar crimp tooling, the

size of the copper wire should be stepped down using one smaller wire size to compen-

sate for the differences in the physical properties between copper and aluminum. For the

correct butt splice to use, refer to the CMA ranges listed with each part number.

When two or more wires are used in either end of a butt splice, the combined cross-

section area must be within the CMA range listed.

Warning: Not approved for reconnection of residential aluminum
