FEATURES
DESCRIPTION
The LM3646 is a 4 MHz fixed-frequency, Current

High-Side Current Sources allowing for
Mode synchronous boost converter. The device is
Grounded LED Cathode for Improved Thermal
designed to operate as a dual 1.5A constant current

driver for high current LEDs. The high-side current

providing Flash current up to 1.5A total. An adaptive

Accurate and Programmable Flash LED

and
maximizes
Current from 24 mA to 1.5A in 11.7 mA steps
efficiency.
Accurate and Programmable Torch LED
The LM3646 is controlled via an I²C-compatible
Current from 2.5 mA to 187 mA in 1.5 mA
interface. The main features of the LM3646 include: a

voltage and can reduce the flash current during low

The

MHz
switching
frequency,
over-voltage
0.4 mm pitch, 20-Bump DSBGA
protection, and adjustable current limit allow for the
use of tiny, low-profile inductors and (10
μF) ceramic
APPLICATIONS
capacitors. The device is available in a small 20-
Camera Phone LED Flash/Torch
bump DSBGA package and operates over the
−40°C
to +85°C temperature range.
