Chroma Trap Filter Frequency Response for Square-Pixel Sampling 2.2.2 Luminance Processing The digitized composite video signal from the output of the A/D converter passes through a luminance comb filter or a chroma trap filter that removes the chrominance signal from the composite signal to generate the luminance signal. The luminance signal is then fed to the input of luminance signal peaking and coring circuits. Figure 2–5 illustrates the functions of the luminance data path. High frequency components of the luminance signal are enhanced further by the peaking filter (edge enhancer). Figures 2–6, 2–7, and 2–8 show the characteristic of the peaking filter at maximum gain.
