ILIM (Pin 28):CurrentComparatorSenseVoltageRange Inputs.TyingthispintoSGND,FLOATorINTVCCsetsthe maximumcurrentsensethresholdtooneofthreedifferent levelsforbothcomparators. INTVCC(Pin19):OutputoftheInternalLinearLowDropout Regulator. The driver and control circuits are powered fromthisvoltagesource.Mustbedecoupledtopower groundwithaminimumof4.7µFceramicorotherlow ESRcapacitor.DonotusetheINTVCCpinforanyother purpose. EXTVCC (Pin 20):ExternalPowerInputtoanInternalLDO ConnectedtoINTVCC.ThisLDOsuppliesINTVCCpower, bypassingtheinternalLDOpoweredfromVINwhenever EXTVCCishigherthan4.7V.SeeEXTVCCConnectionin theApplicationsInformationsection.Donotexceed14V onthispin. PGND (Pin 21):DriverPowerGround.Connectstothe sourcesofbottom(synchronous)N-channelMOSFETs andthe(–)terminal(s)ofCIN. VIN (Pin 22):MainSupplyPin.Abypasscapacitorshould betiedbetweenthispinandthesignalgroundpin. BG1, BG2 (Pin 23, Pin 18): High Current Gate Drives forBottom(Synchronous)N-ChannelMOSFETs.Voltage swingatthesepinsisfromgroundtoINTVCC. BOOST1,BOOST2(Pin24,Pin17):BootstrappedSupplies totheTopsideFloatingDrivers.Capacitorsareconnected betweentheBOOSTandSWpinsandSchottkydiodesare tiedbetweentheBOOSTandINTVCCpins.Voltageswing attheBOOSTpinsisfromINTVCCto(VIN+INTVCC). SW1, SW2 (Pin 25, Pin 16):SwitchNodeConnections toInductors. TG1, TG2 (Pin 26, Pin 15):HighCurrentGateDrivesfor TopN-ChannelMOSFETs.Thesearetheoutputsoffloat- ingdriverswithavoltageswingequaltoINTVCC–0.5V superimposedontheswitchnodevoltageSW. PGOOD1, PGOOD2 (Pin 27, Pin 14):Open-DrainLogic Output.PGOOD1,2ispulledtogroundwhenthevoltage ontheVFB1,2pinisnotwithin±10%ofitssetpoint. SS1, SS2 (Pin 29, Pin 13):ExternalSoft-StartInput.The LTC3868regulatestheVFB1,2voltagetothesmallerof0.8V orthevoltageontheSS1,2pin.Aninternal1µApull-up currentsourceisconnectedtothispin.Acapacitorto groundatthispinsetstheramptimetofinalregulated outputvoltage.Thispinisalsousedastheshort-circuit latchofftimer. ITH1, ITH2 (Pin 30, Pin 12):ErrorAmplifierOutputsand SwitchingRegulatorCompensationPoints.Eachassoci- ated channel’s current comparator trip point increases withthiscontrolvoltage. VFB1,VFB2(Pin31,Pin11):Receivestheremotelysensed feedback voltage for each controller from an external resistivedivideracrosstheoutput. SENSE1+, SENSE2+ (Pin 32, Pin 10):The(+)Inputtothe differentialcurrentcomparatorsarenormallyconnected toDCRsensingnetworksorcurrentsensingresistors. TheITHpinvoltageandcontrolledoffsetsbetweenthe SENSE–andSENSE+pinsinconjunctionwithRSENSEset thecurrenttripthreshold. |
